Experience Design / Scents & Mahogany Box

By Any Other Name pairs excerpts from literary works, Pantone Solid Coated swatches, and a selection of custom-made scents.
Working with perfumer Christophe Laudamiel and the International Fragrances and Flavors Corporation, twelve scents were created for this kit pairing graphic and olfactory design.
The kit was inspired by olfactory studies conducted by Dr. Gerald C. Cupchik on the recollection and interpretation of literature when paired with scents. By Any Other Name uses smell to enhance the experiences of reading and color interpretation by accessing different parts of the brain.
The kit is housed in a custom mahogany two-tiered box.
